Climate Change in North Carolina

Tracey Taylor once said, “Home is where you feel loved, appreciated, and safe.” But what if someone losses their home? This idea is explored with climate change in North Carolina. Living in a secured place teaches us the fact that whatever happens outside in the world, we all have a safe place to stay which is our home. The problem occurs when a natural disaster hits and ruins the area, which leads people to lose their jobs and leave their properties. There are a few ideas planned by the federal government to assist people who face difficulties about living in. Everyone must be aware and open-minded that although they might lose their properties, they still have the authority to be strong and powerful in their future decisions. They must observe that they have the right to motivate themselves and plan their concepts in their destiny. Therefore, the government must convey its effort to rebuild the town and aid people financially to begin their new life.

The author of this article is Mike Belleme. Mike Belleme is a photographer in North Carolina, and he captured photos about climate change. This can approve that he’s credible based on the title and the reliable opinions that he provides to the audience. Belleme offers this information to people who live near the town of North Carolina. People in North Carolina must acknowledge the dilemmas that occur around the state. The author’s tone is kind in between informal and aggressive, as he’s describing the main facts to the reader and providing the issuesthat have occurred over time. Being aggressive is natural as he’s blaming the government’s action of not having a strong authority of the areas. The author’s purpose is to inform the audience regarding the issue that has taken place in the town and the recovery that the government offers to the community. They’re letting readers know the benefits to rebuild the town after the hurricane. The genre of this article is a mixture of informative and opinionated from a newspaper, as he contributes evidence and provides reliable sources about the destruction in North Carolina and the people who lost their properties. The features of this genre are the opinions the author represents about the situation. Keeping this in mind, the author is exhausted with the government of not having good management of people’s cases. Overall, they came up with a plan that involved compensating individuals in the community to rebuild destroyed homes and obtaining financial assistance from the federal government.

Classifying the issues that occur in North Carolina with climate change, Brad Panovich describes the dilemmas with the rising of water level. Brad Panovich is a weather reporter who discusses the news in the website. This emphasizes that Panovich is credible based on the details and facts he shares with us. He informs regarding the weather condition and the sea level that worsens each year and floods various areas around the state. The air quality continues to increase the number of risks and issues, which will lead the living state to danger. According to Climate Change in Charlotte, “As the atmosphere warms it increasing eveaporation. Then the warmer the atmosphere the more moisture it can hold.” (Panovich). This states the fact that the atmosphere’s temperature increases and evaporates the rainfall each year. This could lead to humidity when the atmosphere is warm. Reading this quote, I could observe the author’s tone is kind of offense as he illustrates the government’s failure of obtaining a poor rule of the state. Everyone needs to
acknowledge this opinion regarding the state because this could occur anywhere globally. The genre of this article is narrative from the website news as he contributes real facts about the damages and effects around the state and the flooded places over the living areas. Highlighting the main points regarding climate change in North Carolina, the author is kind of aggressive with the government’s management of not solving these issues beneficially. To sum up my ideas, people endured living in those areas which caused them to lose their properties, but the federal government attempts to resolve the dilemmas and bring everything back to normal.

Restating the facts about lost properties and flooded places, the author of the first source, Christopher Flavelle, discusses the destruction of homes, including ruined stores. Christopher Flavelle is a reporter of New York time, focusing on how people and the government stand the effects of global warmings. Ever since the hurricane hit the city, people began suffering from their lives and losing their job positions. The population of the city started decreasing as the number of risks was increasing continuously and no one could have done anything to prevent dangers around the area. According to Climate Change is bankrupting America’s small town, “After two weeks underwater, the roads buckled. The school and grocery store shut, then did not reopen… The population of around 1,000 fell by about half.” (Flavelle). This illustrates the fact that the entire city was in danger, and everything shut down when the hurricane hit the area. This quote describes that the author’s tone is in between natural and aggressive as he discusses the government’s poor authority of not having beneficial management to assist people economically. Being natural tells that everyone as a group is attempting to resolve the dilemmas in opening the city again. The genre of this article is informative as it comes from the real facts of a newspaper and informs the issues that occur in the flooded areas around the state. Classifying the climate change in North Carolina, I would observe that the author is offended as the government didn’t obtain good management of assisting the people the way they wanted to. Therefore, the government is coming up with various concepts of assisting them economically by buying the properties and live in a safer area.
Being able to understand the dilemmas around the city, Flavelle explains further information regarding the government’s assistance for people who lost their properties (different source). The population began to descend when the hurricane hit the city which caused a huge crisis to the economy and the living areas. Thus, the government forms numerous plans to financially help the people who endured this storm. According to America: Climate Change is bankrupting America’s small towns, “The federal government tried to help, buying the homes of people who wanted to leave, but those buyouts meant even less property tax, tightening the fiscal noose.” (Flavelle). This emphasizes that the government’s action was ideal for the people who struggled financially over this time. Although the government came up with this concept about buying the properties, it meant depression for owners because they had to leave town to restore the destruction. This quote illustrates that the author’s tone is friendly as the government points out several plans to bring the city back to normal and help people with their wants. Being friendly means being gentle to someone who needs assistance. The genre of this article comes from a newspaper that describes the benefits of assisting people financially to leave damaged areas. To sum up the main points of the article, the government has done an advantageous job over this time to restore all the dilemmas back to normal and buy the properties located in those areas. Therefore, the author feels pleased regarding the government’s right to resolve each issue that occurred in the city.

In conclusion, the federal government is in charge of these kinds of issues when a town is in danger. Climate change is a crisis that has influenced people’s lives all over the world and has taken down the economy. In this scenario, there was a natural disaster that took place in North Carolina that has impacted people’s lives in losing their jobs and properties. Thus, the federal government has been building plans to buy the people’s properties so they could depart town. Although this concept might be awkward for some people to leave their properties, it’s still a nice idea to start rebuilding and maximizing people’s economy, including their lifestyle. This would be a huge transition for everyone who lives around town. To sum up my ideas, the federal government has done a beneficial job regarding the issues that have occurred in the town over this time. People have received assistance to increase their economy and rebuild their life. Thus, the government’s authority contains a positive impact on people’s lives and brings concepts so that anyone could begin their own lifestyle. Therefore, the government has been taken control to fix the damages in the town and bring everything back to normal so people could live in.
